A sole trader does not require a registered office address. Sole traders simply register for tax with HM Revenue and Customs. The address supplied to HMRC is normally your home address as sole traders pay tax on personal income. There is no official register for sole traders.
The registered office service only applies to UK companies and LLP’s. They are legally required to have an official address that is recorded at Companies House and HMRC.
You may not want to provide your address to HMRC but the registered office service is not suitable for sole traders. We can supply a mail forwarding service for individuals that operate as a sole trader. Do not purchase the registered office service unless you are a limited company or LLP.
